Another new MS convert

Just a quick note to say hi from another convert. I traded in an R1 for a bright red multi with Termis and some carbon bits and the comfort seat. The best mod though is the black paint on the wheels.

Has anyone found a pair of Renthals that are similar or slightly flatter than standard?

First trip after running in was 2,000miles from Santander back home, which was bloody marvellous.

Worst bit is, having calculated the tank would give me 165 miles, I ran out at 162.

Really? I got 165 miles on my last tank on the 996! I thought these Multi's were a little more touring oriented?

Shame ...

I still want one though ...

Nup - miles!

There was a fair bit of motorway in that I will admit - but definitely miles.

I still had more in the tank after filling up in Twickenham and riding to Nelly's (Notts) - 157 miles. Straight up the M1. The fuel light had only been on for a few miles.

Riding fairly aggressively on my commute from Twickers into the city (you have to with all the scooters etc) I get around 130 miles.

Neil Spalding did say that one of the benefits of his grunter spec would be increased fuel economy ...

I'll let you come down and put the miles on her yourself if you like - I'm not riding it at the moment.

I was pretty surprised myself (not to mention being p@ss*d off) as I was 3 miles form a garage.

While I was running in I got about 180 miles out of 18 litres therefore I assumed @ 10 miles per litre it would do 200 miles per tank. Obviously the consumption went up after running in, hence my estimate of about 165 to 170 per tank.

The trouble was that, even after running out, it only took 18.5 litres and not the 20 I expected.

In future I'll fill up at 150 cos I'm buggered if I'm going to slow down...
Life's too short.

Anyway, there are far more redeeming features of the bike like the ability to scare the crap out of sports bike riders when they get zapped going into a corner by a zombie on a flying fire engine while they strain to get their knee down.
