Dropping forks through yokes.....
To quicken-up the steering???

Has anyone had a go at this???

If so, by how much please???????

Spoke to quite a few bods about quickening the steering and teh most favoured response is jack up the rear end. By lowering the front you lose ground clearance and run the risk of grounding the fairing lower if not your pegs.
On the 900ss I think you can adjust the rear ride height without increasing your spring compression, so it wont make it harder on yer backside?

When I bought my 900ss, it had been successfully raced, and as such the forks are through the yokes by about 20mm. When it was raced there had been a steering damper fitted, but in the 5 years that I have had the bike, I have had no problems with head shake.
