Hi Paul,

I ride in glasses, and only get problems when in flat-out chin-on-the-tank mode. Tend to get a problem with the top bar on the glasses cutting my vision. I don't find it a major trauma, and I don't get on with contacts so I haven't much choice.

If you choose glasses I should go with something quite large that looks crap but gives you a wide area of vision.

Cheers,

Ali

Michael Rutter uses contacts.

Anyone remember the time he lost one half way around the TT course?

Didn't stop him hooning around with one eye... eek!!

Noby Ueda wore glasses too.

I'm sure there are hundreds of racers wearing 'em.

Question is, Do you REALLY want to see whats going on at Cadwell turn 1?

I generally race with contacts, but have also tried with glasses. Couldn't race at all with glasses. The problem was that the temples are tight between your cheeks and the helmet padding. When you move in and out of the bubble, the helmet moves up and down, and so do your glasses. A huge distraction! Maybe you could cut some foam from the padding to aleviate this to some extent, but I couldn't be bothered.

The only problem I had with contacts was the constant air draft to my eyes, tended to make my eyes water significantly. I did loose a contact lens during a race, but still finished. A new helmet completely cured that problem, though.
Definitely contacts for me.
