Unlucky ....

Well, I have had my immaculate 748 SPS less than two months and have managed to get knocked off it already - by the mate I was out riding with!

I'm riding point when we come to a junction and intend to turn left. I stop for traffic coming from the right. My mate decides to go for it and manages to drive into the right side of me (knocking me over) before falling off himself in front of the approaching car (which managed to stop in time thank god).

End result, light damage to the Duc which needs an indicator, lever, peg, lower panels painting, and a mirror. The Fireblade has totalled just about every panel!. It appears he hit my right footpeg (and my right leg - oww!) shredding the left side of his fairing and then he dropped it on the right side smashing that too!

Thankfully neither of us were seriously hurt and it was a good ride through the twisties up until then. Got to say I'm hugely impressed with how little damage the Ducati suffered when compared to the Honda. I expected it to be much more delicate. Theres the silver lining, although I don't recommend the experience much.

Mike

Guess you'll see how much of a mate he is when he's got the bill eh?

GWS, it's only plastic and metal (I have to keep telling myself that)

Thanks for the fleabay tip - have started collecting replacements already and not as expensive as I thought if you shop around a bit!

Back on the road very soon and fairings will be done over the winter.

Anyone recommend a paint sprayer in Staffordshire?
