I have a spare clutch in a box in my garage,I've got a sneaking suspicion it might be for a 900ss and therefore not fit the 750ss which has a wet clutch. Only I cant remember!
How can I tell just by looking at the clutch assembly itself which version I have.

The dry clutch has the pushrod that comes through from the left-hand side of the engine, actuated by the slave cylinder and operating the pressure plate...

I didnt realise the 750's had a wet clutch - we learn every day.

Accord to my bible.....

1991 750 models had the dry clutch (seven steel and seven fibre plates) but was of two possible types.
For 1992 the wet clutch was adopted which affect bikes from engine number 001275. The hydraulically operated wet clutch has:
8, 1.5mm steel driven plates
8, fibre 2.5mm driving plates
1 outside 3.5mm driving plate.

Apparently all 1992 to 1997 (end of model run) 900ss's have the same clutch build:
2mm steel plate splined to the clutch drum.
7, 2mm steel driven plates.
7, 3mm fibre driving plates.
1 off, curved 1.5mm steel plate after the first driving plate.

The wet clutch has a large retaining spring instead of the pressure plate - this is the easiest way of telling the difference between the two...
