Mood: desperately seeking ...summer
749 views

Hi there guys
Thinking of changing my inj 750ss and moving up to a 749 [05]. Have heard conflicting things on comfort and reliability. I do want to go to Europe on it if I change so these things kinda interest me...
Any thoughts would be great

Comfort is good - the saddle isn't as hard you'd think. Not sure how good it would be over touring distances though.

Reliabilty seems limited to coils, fuelling setup and cam timing. I'd make sure you've covered at least 1000 miles in mixed weather before going round Europe. That way you should have got over the teething troubles.

I've just had the DP 'Gel' seat fitted and can confirm that it works a treat.

I didn't know it was there on a 110 mile non stop blast on Monday morning with the return trip in the evening. Cant be bad! I will also be doing a 2-3000 mile European trip later in the year so am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be comfortable enough.

No problems with my '05 so far. Hasn't missed a beat in fact. Comforts good too although I'm having a Tecnosel seat at 1st service time. You won't be sorry!
Go on, you owe it to yourself

thats quite a testimony to the new bike , going from a "flagship" antique shape (748R) model to the "budget" version of the 749 and finding it am improvement

.................imagine how good the R's are
