Battery draining

Hi, my step-dad has a 2003 999 and it's losing about 2.0v a day which means it will never start if it hasn't been on the optimate. The immobiliser light is constantly on though instead of going off after a while, could this affect it?
Does it just need a new battery and if it does where is the best place to get one from as Ducati dealers charge about £80?

Please help!

Sound's like it could be the battery. My immobilser light (red triangular light at the top of the dials) flashes when it's on.

I always use this company for all my batteries (although I've never bought a bike battery off them yet):-

I've always found them very helpful & orders have been delivered quickly.

thanks, found the problem; the charger leads were burning out and had been on fire - luckily the bike wasn't damaged!
