daft electrical question of the day

right it stupid but im going to ask it anyway

yesterday i took the nosecone off my bike and noticed something odd with the electrics to the indicators. the right side one had the wires colour matching yet the left one had the wires going to the opposite colour than expected. does this make any difference and when i replace the nose cone should i match the colours up or replace them as i found them

As far as im aware it shouldnt make any difference on something like the indicators as one side of the bulb connection should go to earth and the other should be a live feed, so should work which ever way round you wire it

To be right, you should match up the cable colours to maintain the correct polarity at the bulb holder. As in the above answer though, its only a single filament bulb,so it does'nt really matter which way the connections are.
