Tracing a mobile phone

My son got knocked off his bike 10 days ago, luckily he is ok but the Suzuki is a write off because the frame is bent!

He has a couple of witnesses and took down the reg no of the car (a silver Fiesta). The guy gave a name and address via a text to junior, whilst they were face to face.

Next thing we know the number plate is off an Audi A5 - which is not silver and even though the guy was white, the owner of the address given definately originates from Africa!

So the only good piece of information that we have is a phone number, which the guy has answered this afternoon, but obviously there is no point in asking for a name and address!

Does anyone know of an app or software that will locate a phone, so that the Police can pay the guy a visit?

Chaz,

Already had them involved, it would appear that they are to busy to try and find him and aren't inclined to put in any effort because no one is seriously injured!

This is all the more surprising when he has committed a criminal offence in giving false details and having hooky number plates!

One might get the feeling that it is too diffricult!

Hi Chris,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_phone_tracking
http://investigativeresources.co.uk/
http://www.mobilelocate.co.uk/
http://www.traceamobile.co.uk/
http://www.planetcreation.co.uk/sat-gps/

just read and choose wisely, because some of them need the phone user to respond to a text to enable tracking.

or you could try
http://www.squidoo.com/trace-mobile-...reverse-lookup
this apparently gives you the option to get the registered users name & address.

I've not tried any of these, just been recommended them by someone who runs a business and uses some of them extensively.

Good luck Chris,
John.
