Well.....
The dealer now wants my original ECU to try and elimate possible ECU fault.
Thing is it's still in a box(I hope) in my inlaws garage 130 miles away.
Arghhhhhhhhhh.

It WILL be the relay, just like everyone else's !

Glenn had the same problem - he was discussing it at the pub night when you were there.

Bit hard to tell that to a mechanic though.
He was aware of the problems that afflect the relay so not sure what's going on.
I'll give them a ring in a minute and ask some more.

Given who your dealer and mechanic is ... it wouldn't surprise me!

I second that!

Steve - Probably a bit late now but I posted some details and pics on getting at the relay a few weeks ago.

Well. they now have the original ECU.
The mechanic is a guy called Paul BTW. I asked him if it could have been the relay but his tester pointed at some sort of injector fault, which he says points to possible ecu problem.
Guess it will get sorted at some point

All fixed now.
The ignition relay had gone and also the ecu was toast.
They were not sure if the relay cooked the relay or the relay failed and killed the ecu.
They fitted the stock ecu ( the bike had the Termi system ecu) and tweaked that to suit and they reckon the bike now runs fine.
I've only had a quick blast and it feels ok to me.
Fingers crossed.
PS They didn't overcharge either, a couple of hours labour which they said was less than the real time they spent, and the new relay, picked the bike up from home for me( only 4 miles away but still) and charged my £96.
