Dave, (s)

I have a bunch of spare 996 coils and plug leads if that's any help.

Has the coil issue been sorted for 2005 bikes? I have a 2005 999 and the front plug/coil looks very exposed to spray off the front wheel. I do a bit of foreign touring and don't really want the bike to let me down in the middle of the Swiss Alps.

Is the issue water getting into the coil, or just a faulty design/batch? If it is water, is there anyway of sealing it up other than spraying WD40 around the front cylinder head?

Any advice on how to avoid failures welcome !!

Gareth

Ducnow - No to be honest we didn't hang around, they were mad busy, must of had 100 bikes in the service department alone, and they literally loaded mine into the van and we left after a small chat.

Do we have any idea whether this affects 03 models 749 or was it only machines of a certain age? Getting nervous about my trip around Scotland now.
