Am I right in reading somewhere that some Ohlins fork seals are leaking and are being replaced under warranty with a new design.
I have never had a leaky seal but one of my fork legs looks as though it has a greasy line around it after bouncing the front end up and down, do not know if this is a leaking fork seal or what ?
I rang my local dealer and they say they have never heard of any problems, theres a suprise !
My bike is out of its 2 year warranty next month, does anyone know of anything to get checked out before then, I have had no problems at all with the bike but sods law says that the week after the warranty expires something will go wrong.
If you have kept the bike serviced at a Ducati dealer, right intervals etc etc you can pay to extend the warranty another year ... dealer should be able to help with this.
Not cheap, but, if something major went down it would be cheap insurance.
As for the seals it depends which dealer you go to. Those that have the skills and tools to replace the seals will, those who have not got the tools etc will ask Ducati to replace the legs.
Real McCoy, how come you got new forks ? Did Ducati agree to the relacement and what dealer did you use.
basicly bike was still in warranty and i showed ducati Leeds the problem, they said we dont touch the seals but we can replace the forks under warranty (which they did)
