ST4S IN 748 frame

New to forum folks,
Hope someone can help me, does anyone know if a ST4S 996 engine will fit in a 748 frame? if so are there any mods required?

mick.

The engine case is too wide at the swinging arm mount. The ST4 has bearings in the engine casings (like the monster) and the 748/9** has them in the swinging arm. I read about a guy who had the casings on his monster engine machined to fit. The cases are basically the same apart from the bosses where the swinging arm bearings are located, so they could be milled off.
