Well, I think it was better - I didn't miss a gear, but I only did about 7 laps before low siding at Paddock Hill and ending up in the gravel - straightened or replaced most things - but the Brake Master Cylinder popped its seal and so that was the end of the day for me.
I'm not sure what the adjustment was that Ray did - it involved removal of the cover that side, but not actually going into the gearbox internals - also had a leaking slave cylinder which couldn't have been helping with downshifts.
Oh well - I'll go and see what I can do about all the gravel rash...........
