Thunder Bikes

Just been looking at the last Thunderbike round times at Pembrey last weekend, at least I wouldn't have finished last using my 583 based on lap times, be interesting to see how my 620 and 750SS times compare if we get dry races

on my 51bhp 583 I was in the 1m 10s so still several seconds off what I can lap the circuit in, hopefully the extra BHP from either the 620 or the 750 will bring my MT times down futher.

Well looking at the lap times an awful lot of people were in the 1:04 - 1:05 bracket - I think you'll need a fair bit more power to get you down into the competitive top 5 or so.

Bear in mind that the Pembrey turnout appears to be somewhat depleted (as always seems to be the cae with Bemsee meetings for some strange reason).

I can do high 1:04's on my SV650 and I have to say I looked at those times and thought "Ferk!" I'd need to find some extra pace even on the 800 to get up front. Those Thunderbikes are getting faster by the day. Your 620 or 750 won't be competitive Kev - they can't compete realistically with a Minitwin now. In the wet it would be different of course.

You may be interested to hear that for 2007 the Thunderbike series will allow Ducati 748 models to compete. The 2007 provisional regs have been done now and are posted on the Visordown and Motoforum web sites.

We already have 3 or 4 interested 748 runners for next year, and anyone wishing to run one of these can also enter the final two rounds of the series this year at Brands Hatch 7/8 October and Lydden 21/22 October in a non points scoring capacity.

If anyone is interested in running either a 748 or any other bike in the 2007 Thunderbike series please let me know

Thaks
