Why is that andy? Maybe the fluid had never been changed? That could have caused the inconsistent pressure?

I think what he means is that if you originally had a problem with a spongy lever then did you find out what caused that problem and fix it before you tried to bleed it? Old fluid wouldnt cause it. Air in the system would and the only way air can get in is through a duff seal or a perished hose.

THANKYOU MAV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your help buddy, drinks are on me at Cadwel!l (provided I get the handling sorted in time)

The piston was jammed solid in the cylinder, applied the 'rattler technique'*
and presto! Lever pressure has returned

Bloody good thing as well - the soonest most dealers could fit the bike in was the end of May

Ducati really need to get their arse into gear and start making places like Cornerspeed official service centres, maybe the waiting list wouldn't be so long!

Well as we\'ve all followed this epic tale from beginning to end, DJ,

please explain exactly what the "rattler" technique is.

Just so we know, like....

The "Rattler" technique stems from his methodology that all things are repairable with a hammer ....

It is written in DSC folklore along with other mysteries such as Fordies age and The Flux Capacitor .....
