There's been lots of rumours that it will be an FTR aluminium chassis, as opposed to returning to a steel trellis frame, but who knows.

It was also interesting to hear Stoner's comments that he felt the carbon frame was not the issue, and that he could have won every race on it at the end of last season!

To be fair, Stoner's right about the end of last season - check the results from Aragon onwards and he pretty much either won the race or crashed trying...

Worth remembering that Ducati only became champions by doing something different to the Japanese (going Bridgestone) - they are unlikely to beat Honda at their own game.

Sure it might take time to resolve but I would have thought working through and solving the problems with the carbon bike is the way forward - if they can make it work and develop an advantage with it, then that will be a huge jump on everyone else.

I think they became champions through getting a number of factors right; it was the new 800cc era and their bike was way ahead of the rest with an exceptional rider on it. It took the Japanese factories by surprise and they struggled to catch up in time to stop Stoner winning the 2007 title.

It does seem that Ducati are having a lull at the moment, and that scrutiny is even more intense with Rossi in the seat, but as the guys on Eurosport were saying this weekend: Racing is cyclical. Each manufacturer will have their day as they find an improvement over the others. It's a game of leap-frog and at the moment Ducati are bringing up the rear.
