749 r, having those thoughts again.

I'm having those thoughts again, you know the ones. This time about a 749 r.
What they like in comparision to the 999bip handeling wise. I had an 04my one for 12 months a couple of years ago and was never really happy with the feel from the front, sold it on and went back to my 996. Tell me that just because they look similar they are nothing like the same to ride and it's all in my head.

Hmm,...after a bit of twiddling my old 999bip handled really well. They do tend to come out of the factory set pretty low at the rear. There are several set up guides around the 'net. The 749R uses Ohlins front and rear so you should be able to find the ideal set up.
I have never heard anyone complain about 749R handling.(unless something is radically wrong!)

Tried all sorts wth the t9, had the forks done (k-tech) and an ohlins put on the back. Up at the back, forks through the yolks, but still never got it so i was happy with it. Did about 10,000 mile while i had it so can't say i didn't try. lol.

Thumbs up

Those bikes look fantastic.
The black paint on the yellow 'S' really works well.

Keefy, ditto, the black paint job on 749s looks superb.

Both excellent machines, but I prefer yellow (tin hat on!)

Regards

the red would look funny with black paint on carbon fairings... remove paint to reveal carbon? can it be done...? Not something i can be arsed doing as it looks good as it is... just wondering if it could be done.
