JHP goes racing 2007
December 11th 2006

Three established and respected brands from the British paddock have joined forces to contest the ultra-competitive National Superstock Championship in 2007.

Buildbase, Ducati UK and JH Performance Racing are to spearhead a challenge for what has become a Japanese manufacturers’ dominated championship during recent years and will compete on the all-new flagship Ducati 1098cc bikes that recently caused a storm when they were unveiled at the Milan motorcycle show in November.

The Team - Buildbase Ducati will benefit from direct support from Ducati Corse in Bologna and from Ducati UK and will be fielding two talented young riders and potential “stars of the future” in John Laverty and Kieran Clarke.

The bikes were launched last weekend at Kyalami and tested by Ducati’s World Superbike factory riders Troy Bayliss, Lorenzo Lanzi and the World’s press & motorcycle journalists. With Bayliss breaking the Kyalami lap record by over a second the early indications would suggest that the all-new Ducati 1098s will be extremely competitive and definitely on the pace.

The Team will take delivery of the race bikes later this month and plan to have them “race prepared and ready” for a scheduled testing program in Spain throughout February. Further news updates will be released in due course, but in the meantime all enquiries regarding Buildbase Ducati should be directed to:

Hmmmm, I'd heard a whisper about John Laverty on the 1098 in 2007 a few months back, just didn't know about the JHP involvement.

Should be good.

I assume no 749Rs in Supersport then?????

Think JHP were planning to run Martin Jessop on the 749R next year although no idea if this is still the case

I think there'll be a fair few 1089's in the superstock lineup next year. I know a chap running one so will be keeping an eye on him.
Laverty and Clarke should be running up the front if the bike's as good as it's s'posed to be.

Had heard this a while ago, glad it came to fruition and wasn't just another rumour! It will be interesting to see how many teams field 1098's at the start of the season, and how many more jump on them if they are competitive!!!
