Ducati vs Aprilia and the new WSB Pirellis
An interesting hypothesis on the respective performances at Phillip Island @

What a revelation! This years 6kg heavier Ducati lapped slower than last years lighter version. Just to many factoes come in to play, wind direction, wind strength, gearing etc etc

Oh well sorry, I thought the reflections on the respective performance of the 2- and 4-cylinder bikes on the control tyre, which was the focus of the article, were interesting.

Trouble is Simon they start talking about corner speed and I'm sure a 6kg heavier Ducati will have to brake earlier and will also take longer accelerating out of the corner. So I would expect it to be down on corner speed. Also with the Panigale waiting in the wings and the on going Moto GP issues I can't see as much development going into the 1198 as many of the other bikes,
To me their analysis is flawed

That must be right, aye.
