Thanks all for the answers so far.

If you said Zircotec would give 10 percent performance improvement, whereas Camcoat's website only says 5 percent, well £230 + VAT, in the bigger scheme of how much I'm spending on my bike at the moment, is not that big a deal!

I'm not really looking for the best performance just by coating the headers (on my engine, the difference - if any - would be minimal).

Maybe zircotec's coating is better if used on more powerfull vehicles...

Why do you think this would be minimal on the 1000DS engine? Being air cooled I'd say heat dispertion would be a very high priority if you wanted optimum performance from this engine.

because I never thought that by coating the exhaust headers I could see such a big difference on the actual engine temperature/performance

anybody here who has tried both Camcoat and Zircotec??

Recently done by Camcoat on the same model. They say it should last for years. Service was very good.

Certainly for race use then heat build up is a real problem for maintaining power and getting rid of it by whatever means possible is a good idea....my 800ss race bike really suffered from it. For road use it just isn't a problem at all and I'd spend my money on other things.

thanks for the post!

Do you have any more pictures of the headers??

Have you installed them already? I picture of them on the bike would be even better!

I guess the headers are more visible than I thought:
