| Apparently............ the seals on the Ohlins require regular movement to keep the seal oiled so it doesn't dry out.
I'm told the Ohlins are so "friction-less" the oil is an essential element required to maintain a seal between stanchion and leg. If left without "pumping" the front end (to keep the leg / seal wet) at regular intervals, leaking can result.
Sometimes, when re-used, the fork seal will sort itself out and re-seal.
The visble oil line may just be a dirt line but a close monitoring over a few miles should answer the question.
If you are in any doubt at all and worried about it, don't ride it and contact your local dealer to get some advice.
