Testastretta engines - do they have any funnies ?

Hi,
this didn't seem to fit in the 999 or 1098/1198 forums, so thought I'd ask it here and let the moderators correct me if necessary

So, the question is in the title.
The 916s would do base/head gaskets I understand, and the 996 engines suffered from flakey rockers.
How are the 'stretta engines faring ?

I had a 998 that was great all the time I had it. Just wondering if time is now showing up some weak design areas like the 996 encountered.
The paint on the engines of all the bikes I've had seems to fall off after a while. Is this still the case ?

I tend to hang on to my bikes for a number of years, so just wondering what they are like before I go splashing a load of cash on a bike that will melt infront of my eyes...

Cheers all,
John.

No problems with my 998bp engine in my Hybrid, I have been thrashing it around for a few years now and its behaving itself, but I must get on and change the belts in the near future.
