Side stand bypass kit

I found a site on e-bay that sells the bypass switch so i can run the engine with the stand down, has any body done this or used this type before? is there a better one to go for or does some one on here sell them ??

Cheers
Simon

I used one of these on my ST4S

It is better made than the one on ebay as all the fittings are Ducati style (not bullet connectors).

Price is around the same as the one on ebay. (couldn't get a price as their on line store is down)

Doesn't matter how good the kit is Tantrum, it all depends on how reliable the Ducati neutral switch is

How true!
The neutral switch on my Multichef is just starting to play up.Every now and then I need to pull in the clutch to get her started.Trouble is,sometimes it does'nt work when you have stopped in traffic and cuts the engine out.

Never mind the kits, save yourself a heap of cash and short the wires together from the stand switch. Then junk the stand switch altogether. What a crap idea!!!!!

I have a kit like that fitted, sure there was someone on here selling them via ebay, original ducati connectors etc.

Only problem with shorting the wires is that you can ride away with the stand down, the kit I have maintains the cutout should the stand be down, well worth having IMHO.

Several options for having the what I would say is the best option, being able to run the engine on the side stand but as soon as you select a gear, i.e the neutral light goes out with the stand down the motor cuts.
Spending £25 to £30 on a kit with the proper connectors to a few pence on components and some time. I went for the latter but also bought a kit as unless you spend a lot of time on a DIY job with the soldering iron, heat shrink sleeving etc it might look a bit Heath robinson.
Not fitted the kit yet, me DIY job has worked OK for over 2 years.
