Not very hot why?

been out a couple of times since fitting my 50mm exhausts not long after stopping i touched the cans by accident and didn't get burned which surprised me went out again today for a 50 mile run with some town riding at the end and stopped at home and put my hand staight onto the cans as soon as i stopped and they weren't even hot (quite warm) is this normal ie: cos they are open pipes the gasses are not trapped inside like standard exhaust baffles etc

Probably because it's a good 20 degrees cooler at the moment!

Wait until a hot summer's day and then try it again ... just to be sure

forgive my potentially 'blonde' moment, but are they carbon? I noticed a huge difference when I changed from std to Tremis. Hardley any heat at all.

Nigel - Alan says it shows that you have some good quality cans there, which have been packed properly.
If they do start to get very hot later on, it shows that they may/will need to get re-packed.

Glad you got some class Nigel. (Just like me )

Nigel

Its because your bike is yellow, it doesn`t go fast enough to get hot

Nigel,

I'm with CK on this one..........My carbons have got decidedly warmer on each run, but I have done nigh-on 35k on them without repacking..
