1st Bike Duke Newbie 888

Hello all, I bought an 888 Strada 3 months ago, it's my first bike and I'm very pleased with it...but I don't know much about bikes...will these fit?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOP-Endtoepfe-...QQcmdZViewItem

Also where would I find a decent painter in the Kent/Surrey area. I was going to Pro Twins but have been put off.

Any advice appreciated

Cheers, Russ

Again welcome on board-and to Ducatidom.

Those cans look like 888 ones to me, and the guy is advertising them as such so I would say that yes they will fit-you will lose your pillion rest's though as they are high cans.

Fan-bloody-tastic an 888 as your first bike !!! Woohoooo, great taste.

As Monty says, the zorsts seem to be ones that should fit your Strada. The only size it mentions is 42mm so they look like they should fit over the 40mm Strada 'manifold'. If they were high level pipes from a 888 SP they would be bigger diameter.

As Monty says, they will bolt on to the existing pillion footrest mounting points, so you'll lose the ability to take a passenger....but you probably won't want one of those anyway.

Nice find....I'd have 'em for my Strada...if I had the spare cash

Welcome to the board Russ.
I'll have an ice-cold Guinness, thank you for asking.

1. The header pipe ends on the 851/888 and 900SS-carbie are in exactly the same position.
2. The slip-on-can-inlet-pipe o.d. is 42mm so that is prob what the bloke is quoting

Thanks fellas, he has confirmed that they were fitted to a '93 Strada so they'll be fine. I bought the bike for just £3100 due to 8 Guinni and a bit of Ebay Tourrettes. I'll be adding the SP version as soon as I can find one for OK money. In the mean time I'll keep searching Ebay for a single seat tail piece as you said, I won't be carrying any pillions with the high level cans.

Welcome to the board, and the woderful, albeit expensive drug habit, that is the 888.

I thought those cans where up for sale a few weeks ago...............

Good luck, but maybe better off with Natty's Sils.

Rgds,

Rob
