New Arrival

Hi Guys,

As a new owner of a 998sBayliss, with less than 1500 miles, thought i'd join in the fun on your club site.

Had the bike for 2 weeks now, no probs with it but I have to say it has given me jaw ache (from the constant smile). Its a dream bike and after the sorry saga I had with the Benelli, life is worth living again. I can't keep off it

My faith in Italian technology is fully restored.
Must go now , need to ride.
Ciao,
Jon

Congrats mate!

The benelli is a bit of a bollock-killer isnt it?

Thanks for the welcome.

Yeh it probably is --- if you can get it to go, but that's a whole other story.

nice purchase mate!! What was the score on the Benelli..mates thinking about chopping his R1 in but im not so sure. The demo bike I took aout from 3x didnt have working indicators, and an intermittent rev counter - not a good advert??!

Also didnt like the slipper clutch much either..shame..its a stunning bike.

Appreciate you dont want to get into too much typing but a snapshot would be helpful for my mate..

Cheers
Nat

Main problem is with the fuelling (very rough between 3k and 5.5k with no power) and the slipper clutch causes an inability to select neutral, even at standstill. These are the two that most other users get.

I waited six months for a fix but Benelli were either unable or unwilling to resolve these issues. I had many other problems, some fixed some not.

I agree its stunning but that mens for nothing if it doesn't work. I suggest you get your mate to check out the Benelli users forum at http://pub2.ezboard.com/bbenelliforum before he makes such a momentus decision.

One point to note is that my bike was July last year some are saying that year's models are slightly better, ah well.

Cheers
Jon

Welcome to the club Jonsc

I love my 998s Mono and think that the fueling and power delivery is spot on.

O yes, and it handles well.
