I've not long bought a 996 and have just finished a cosmetic restoration. I've been looking at these HID kits (for xenon bulbs) as, when taking the headlight unit apart to demist it, I may fit one of these to at least the dipped beam and maybe the high beam.
Has anyone on here fitted them? are they worth the £100 or so for both? Is it such that MOT testers take a dim (no pun intended) view of the high beam being xenon/high power. Do they omit more heat than standard halogen bulbs (the info I've read says they actually cut heat output).
I'm interested as I think they both look good and boost safety with a brighter/clearer light which I habitually use when riding anyway.
The conversion to HID will give three times the light using 35 Watts instead of 60 Watts. You can only convert the 996 high beam if you want the correct light pattern.
