I always stuck with bt010s on 996s and various R1s Blades etc. Before them it was the bt56ss and before that standard bt56. Never had any problem with them. I don't think they are really any poor tyres nowadays. Fortunatley I have only ever come off a bike twice once on Dunlops and once on Michelins. Even though neither time was really the tyres fault I seem to have avoided them ever since.
Will probably end up fitting 010s to my Multistrada when I come to need a pair. I do agree that when 70% worn or so the handling does seem to go off but has it happens gradually you do not notice it so much until you then fit a new pair of 010s and suddenly your bike is transformed and you end up singing the praises of the 010 again.
010's suited my R1, but the Diablo's are stunning on the 748. Fitted a new rear recently after a puncture and 10 miles of scrubbing on the tyre the knees were sliding, on a damp road too!!!
after reading this topic i have to say ive used 010s and said i would never use anything else, (that was on a honda) then i bought a 748s brand new with dragon evos on it they were brilliant, now can only get diablos and must say they are as good as the evos and will now stick with diablos(for what its worth)
I got a puncture last week that couldn't be repaired, so had a standard diablo on the back as this is supposed to be less sticky than the standard tyres dragon evos the bike came with new.
