Unless it's a watercooled Ducati............

Yeh-bloody typical, gives the rules:
Thunderbike Class displacement limits are absolute and are set as follows:
THUNDERBIKE
Single cylinder, Unlimited displacement
Twin cylinder, air cooled, Unlimited displacement
Twin cylinder, liquid cooled, 3 or less valves per cylinder, Unlimited displacement
Twin cylinder, liquid cooled, 4 valve per cylinder, up to 750cc
Three cylinder, non-fuel injected, up to 1200cc
Four cylinder, air-cooled, up to 1200cc
Four cylinder, liquid cooled, 1990 to 1992 model year, up to 650cc
Four cylinder, liquid cooled (oil or water), pre-1990 model year, up to 860cc
All air-cooled, 2-valve, unlimited displacement

And then specifically excludes 748 and 749 Ducati's-do you think he is worried about his beloved Buells being thrashed???

Maybe we should bite the bullet as a club and run our own Thunderbikes series alongside the Desmodue boys???

Hmmmm....

ST2 racing anybody? Or ST3 racing? What about a 900, 944 or 1000 SS? They should all make the criteria and meet their low power to weight ratio requirements

My thoughts exactly when I first read about it, but Bloo Duke is too powerful. They've got a maximum power to weight ratio limit, so the bike has to weigh at least 4 pounds per horsepower. The maximum power any bike can have is listed as:

125 kg 68.91 hp
130 kg 71.66 hp
135 kg 74.42 hp
140 kg 77.18 hp
145 kg 79.93 hp
150 kg 82.69 hp
155 kg 85.44 hp
160 kg 88.20 hp
165 kg 90.96 hp
170 kg 93.71 hp
175 kg 96.47 hp

So, Bloo Duke at 175kg and 101 bhp would have to be detuned slightly or be excluded.

A standard 1000 SS at Ducati's quoted figures of 180 Kg and 95 Bhp would be pretty much on the money wouldn't you think?
