Scorpion cans

Hi all.
Do I understand right that if an exhaust manufacturer say that the end cans have been dyno for the bike, and it says no additional fueling needed, this means you can just put them on and ride? I have just brought a 1098 with carbon Scorpion end cans, but the previous owner was riding the bike with the baffles removed and has told me that the bike is running very slightly rich, (popping when throttle is shut down?) So if I put the baffles back in will this sort the running rich out? can anybody help?

I would have thought the bike would be running lean as the Scorpions will be freer flowing over the Cat containing originals. Hence the popping.

It might be worth flashing the DP map to the ECU to see if you get an improvement.

Exhaust popping is due to the bike running lean. You may be able to correct this by adjusting the fuel trim/CO to richen things up.

Are you using Ducatidiag/JpDiag? If so, with the use of the software and a Gas Analyser (like a Gunson) you can adjust the fuel trim/CO.

A number of forum members (myself included) have invested in equipment to reflash the IAW5* ECU as fitted to your bike. We are able to change the mapping of the ECU. The Ducati Performance (DP) mapping is a good starting point for any exhaust mods. The process is reversible. PM me if you want more information.

Chris I thought you needed to get/pay for a code for the 5AM ECU on a 1098
