583 to 675 Conversions?

I know that there was talk of a discount being offered for this - through Neil at Sigma I think? - but has anything been officially announced about it yet?

Any indication of the cost as well?

I'm looking to get this done so need to budget both time and money for it.

Chris"

Ah, ok.

I've been sent some figures but even getting the kits at cost prices is going to be an horrendous amount of labour cost involved - to the point where it's going to double the cost of the bike!

Seems like we may need to work on a plan for this too...

Ant,

Following the meeting yesterday, discussions as to discounts that will be available to Desmo Due entrants have proved positive.

Obviously the overbore kit for the 583 motor is one of the key components, to equalising the performance in relation to the 620 machines. They have indicated that they will look at making a "significant" reduction on this and other key parts to entrants.

I dont have a price yet, but expect to have more info shortly.

Chris

unfortunately the much cheaper option of drop-in high comp pistons looks out as compression goes to 11.5

Boys,
We will be mailing out the offer on the overbore kit, etc direct to entrants as soon as we know; I am not intending to post them on the message board.

We need to agree a means by which only paid up entrants can receive the discount, it will not be available to anyone else, which we then need to agree with Ducati.

Given that the overbore kit as I understand it is a simple bolt on relacement (I dont beleive you have to split the cases), then I suggest that people get on and fettle their bikes/engines and there will be plenty of time to fit the kit once we have the paperwork in place.

One word of caution though; dont forget that as the kit will effectively be the equialent of a re-bore,, you will need to give the pistons 500/600 miles of running in before they will give of their best and not nip up.

Chris
