Fork conversion

I am in the proces of fitting 916 forks to my 888. I have all the bits apart from the top yoke.
The ideal option would be the CycleCat conversion kit, but that costs £200 plus.
The question is, do later 900SS use 53 mm forks and is the offset the same? Alternatively do later Monsters use 53 mm forks and do they have the same offset?
When converting Monsters to superbike forks a lot of people have the original top yoke bored out to match, I do not think this is possible with the 888 yokes as they have less metal to play with.
All suggestions gratefully received

Douglas

As far as I remember all SS bikes and Monsters have 50mm forks.

if you were using ST forks, they would go straight into your triples. superbike forks with the 53mm dia require a custom top yoke or machine yours out to suit. not sure if there's enough meat left though. with billet yokes they machine them with not much around them, but the std one is cast.

Douglas, you could always try Harris - not sure what their price would be just for the top yoke but their kit does look really good.
cheers
