Mood: make poverty history - cheaper Dukes now!
Question info on 620 ss race conversion?

thinking of buying a 620 ss roadbike to convert for next season.
would need end cans - any idea where & how much?
are the suspenders up to racing with my muscular 13 and a half frame onboard, or does it need work?
do the suspension adjusters work, or just click for a placebo effect, like a jap. bike?
any pitfalls i should take in before buying?
cheers fella's!

Actually, you got me thinking

We should have a 'How to convert your Ducati to a DD racer' page on the www.DDRACER.com website.

Have you bought it yet?

Parts are no more expensive to buy than Jap stuff.

A couple of race silencers, re-sprung shock, race fairing etc.

All can be found on flea bay or on here.

The bike you've talked about seems nice, buy it, ride it, prep it, race it and grin like hell

if anyone has any bits, let me know!
would probably need a race clock bracket as well - would be fitting a 916 fairing.

Why?

What's wrong with the Sport fairing? It fits already.

You're a complicated man aren't you

thought you said constipated then.....
916 fairing is pretty, and can get a nice tall screen for my stiff neck.
oe fairing going back on when bike sold as careful owner road bike
got to sort catch tray anyway, so seemed easiest. bet the oe fairing would sell for a good few quid on ebay...

You are joking arnt you Dom ?
The SSie are one of the worst looking bikes ever made.
No wonder the sales figures are complete pants.
Ducati styled the best looking bikes in the world with the 916, then fell flat on their faces with everything else theyve produced since.

If you're building a 620 Sport race bike on a bit of a tight budget (which Rich is), surely it makes more sense just to buy a Sport race fairing, rather than going through the hassle of fitting a 916 fairing.

I suppose it may not cost much more, but if you need a 916 style fairing stay (or a modified one) that's £100 ish straight away.

It may be uglier, but at least the Sport fairing will go straight on for just the cost of the panels.
