Excuse noob questions but having read through this thread and come across 'incident' / 'last year's list' / sponsorship, is this a special evening of some sort, limited to anyone in particular, or can I book?

Cheers,
Pav

That's ok 'noob'.
David was a Ducati nut, and raced Desmo Due. There was an incident on Cooper Straight, Brands last May and Dave died. If you look at the track day posts you'll see the original one from last week with the attachments that explain what we did to pull our socks up; raise a glass to him and have a bloody good time - raising some serious dosh for R4H. The nice Jonathan Palmer of MSV and the lovely Kevin of Focused make it possible, together with DSC/DD chaps and chapesses, CSS and DUK. You are welcome. We all know each other, and most people knew David. It's not advertised as a trackday. There's no trackday loons. It serves a common purpose. It'll be a giggle.

Mood: Ugly girls (749) are more dirty.....
Annette,

I am seriously considering signing up for this extremely worthwhile event - just one question: is it limited to DSC people only or could I bring a couple of (non-loony) friends to help support the cause?

Cheers,

RX

Mood: Bike or Yacht..... tough choice on sunny day ;-)
Question Stoopid questions.

Hi !

Have read this thread and this seems like an ideal opportunity to turn up and meet my fellow DSC members.

I was coming along to a Surrey rideout.... until i had a small off :-(

Still bike is back now and am keen to get into the DSC thing.

My question is : Whats the format?, i dont really understand the Track/Social aspect, is there an option to ride the track??

Am very much a novice so am a bit afraid of the track if i'm honest

Steve

Have a look under the trackday threads at one called 'Dave Harris bla bla bla'.
It's a track evening. But its all about having a great time and making some money for charity. If you only want to go out on the track for one lap or if you want to go nuts and do 60 laps, either way, if you enjoy it and it makes some money for R4H, then that's great. The social side is that we all get together (whether on the track or in pit lane); I'm trying to get some raffle bits and bobs together (badly); and we'll end up down the pub raising a glass to my man and and letting our hair down. Come along. It's a great chance to just pay £59 (all of which goes to R4H) and if you go out and you don't like it, then at least you can say you've done it.

'Scuse me for butting in...but if you really didn't fancy the track aspect, you could certainly just come along, meet loads of people in the pit-lane, take a chance on the raffle etc. It would be a great opportunity to have a look at the trackday format and see if you fancy it in the future.

As you can see in the above posts, there are a fair few people just coming along for the social bit (which, of course, is free with the option to contribute to R4H if you want to). Or, as Annette says, £59 is a cheap way of having a go on track for your first time and it all goes to R4H.
