brands hatch indy track day lap times ?

Hi all,

Never done a track day but have been to watch a few club races, last one at brands indy with the dd races. has made me a bit keen to try it out.

Before i get carried away and book one, what sort of lap times do track day riders do at brands hatch indy??

Is there much of a difference between slow, intermediate and fast groups?

Yes, there are big differences between the groups. As it's your 1st trackday, book yourself in the Novice group until you're comfortable with track riding.

There's a DSC trackday at Brands Indy this Wednesday

i'll be coming along to watch but not ride, new to the bike and cant afford to drop it!

want to get a feel for the day before i book in. call me a girl if you like...

my local dealer is motorapido and i blame them for planting the seed that i should do it in the first place, think they are going this wednesday.

Guess that i'm welcome to spectate????

was curious about lap times in each group.

pure speculation, but at the indy circuit, approx 5 second spread across each group, with possibly some overlap between groups, and novice having a broader spread of times.

e.g.

Novice 60-75 seconds / lap
Inters 60-70
Fast 50-60

thanks Mr S,

Seems like a big difference in the groups then, 25 seconds from fastest in fast to slowest in the slow, wow.

Guess getting the right group is pretty important! can you move groups?

on such a short circuit, do people get lapped ? i would be nervous about getting in the way.

Is there a club record for track day times?

Dseered...

thanks, i'll go along on wednesday and see what its all about. i've been told its easy and fun.

If there are guys that are going round in 50 seconds I guess the fast group is to be left alone for the meantime

may just scrape under 75 !!

looks good!

are the DSC days considered faster than your usual track day? there seems to be a big "track / race / trick kit / expertise" bias here.

would i be better off on a "normal track day" first.

i know that you all want to promote you own days but some honest advise would be appreciated.
