changing wheels
Ok, thanks Jasper.
Am i right in thinking that these are slightly wider rims? The rear being 6' instead of 5.5'??
Will i still be ok with the same width rear tyre, or will i have to go up a size?

You can stick with the 180/55 with no problems.

Front discs may need to be swapped.. (different offset maybe..)
(not shure if the 996R has the same front brake setup as the '01 748R, if so you have to do the swap)

Front discs may well be a differnt offset. I'm pretty sure you can use your own discs or if needed, have some spacers turned up to "offset" the calipers to compensate.
I think the R uses a 5.5" rear rim anyhow?
