Post The public of EICMA has fun at the Ducati Scrambler Land of Joy

The public of EICMA has fun at the Ducati Scrambler Land of Joy
  • Ducati Scambler Sixty2, one of the most keenly awaited new bikes at the Milan show
  • Also featuring in the 2016 news, the Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro inspired by the motorcycle Troy Bayliss raced in America
  • Prizes for the winners of the second edition of the international video contest "Scrambler You Are"
Milan, 19 November 2015 – 10 Ducati Scramblers, 6 containers, 1 halfpipe and 1 table football. All in 280 sq.m of synthetic grass. This is the Land of Joy at the 73rd edition of the International Motorcycle Exhibition (Pav 15, stand M30) in Rho (Milan) from 19 to 22 November.

The main protagonist of the Ducati Scrambler area is the new Sixty2. The new pop icon had a preview presentation at the Ducati World Première and simultaneously at the second edition of the Ducati Scrambler Marathon, a fringe event where the bike was built live, just as it is on the assembly line in Bologna. The Ducati Scrambler Marathon was also the perfect opportunity to present the winners of the second edition of the Scrambler You Are International Video Contest with their prizes. The contest, open to young film-makers, had the theme of street culture this year. The first prize, decided by the jury, went to the video by Barbara Valente called “Trick or treat”. She was awarded the prize of 5,000 euro by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, while the web award went to “Athens city” a video by Dimitrios Athanasiadis from Greece who won a prize of 1,000 euro.

The Ducati Scrambler Sixty2 doesn't simply enlarge the range on offer from the new Ducati brand, it opens the way for a new two-wheel market segment, meeting the requirements of those seeking an accessible bike that is easy to handle and has low running costs but don't want to miss out on the unique Scrambler spirit: fun and sharing of positive emotion. Sixty2 is a Scrambler inspired by youth street culture, skateboards, street food, pop music and, above all, the pop art that, back in 1962 (the year the very first Ducati Scrambler was launched, which gives the Sixty2 its name), was taking the United States by storm. That's why the Sixty2, the most popular Scrambler ever, is already a pop icon. With the Sixty2, the highly expressive Ducati Scrambler design takes on a fresh look thanks to a slim steel tank with dedicated graphics and logos. This makes the Sixty2 immediately recognisable, as do its three exclusive colours. Non-conformist, affordable and essential, the Sixty2 once again provides that perfect Ducati Scrambler mix of tradition and modernity, a mix now closer than ever to the essence of motorcycling: two wheels, wide handlebars, a simple engine and lots of fun. The wide handlebars and long seat ensure a comfortable, relaxed riding position. The low centre of gravity and a new 160/60 x 17" rear tyre with a slightly chunky surface pattern ensure great handling and pure fun whatever the situation, not to mention confident braking thanks to the standard fitting ABS. The Ducati Scrambler Sixty2 will be available in the Atomic Tangerine, Ocean Grey and Shining Black colour schemes.

With the new Flat Track Pro version, the self-expression at the heart of the Ducati Scrambler takes on a grittier, racier attitude. Inspired by the bike ridden in the American AMA Pro Flat Track 2015 Championship by Troy Bayliss and Johnny Lewis, the Flat Track Pro is the latest addition to the Ducati Scrambler range. Based on the Scrambler Full Throttle, the Flat Track Pro version features an all-new tank with two-tone painted side panels and a logo identical to the one on the bikes that raced in the USA. The low tapered handlebars and an exhaust with low type-approved Termignoni Slip-on are the same as those on the Scrambler Full Throttle. The seat has been fully renewed with a rider-only design and yellow stitching. For the first time on a Ducati Scrambler, this bike features a side-mounted plate holder, while the nose fairing and short front mudguard, the same colour as the tank, are also unique to the Flat Track Pro version. The machined-from-solid mirrors are another high-prestige detail. The Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro has the same alloy wheels as the Full Throttle version plus the added feature of wheel rim piping the same colour as the tank. Moreover, the handgrips have been specially designed for this version. Numerous machined-from-solid parts highlight the racing spirit of the Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro. The Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro will be available in Racing Yellow.

Ducati Scrambler stands for self-expression and in line with this, the vast range of accessories will be on show at EICMA, together with the bike itself and a new collection of apparel that can reach out to every generation, offering an essential, authentic and contemporary style suited to clients of all ages. Photos of the Ducati Scrambler stand are on the facebook page of the new Ducati brand: www.facebook.com/scramblerducati.

Along with the two new Scramblers, Ducati has presented another five new bikes at EICMA: the exclusive Cruiser XDiavel, the adventurous Multistrada 1200 Enduro, the sporty 959 Panigale and Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak and the updated range of the exciting Hypermotard 939, also available in the Hypermotard 939 SP and Hyperstrada 939 versions. In addition to these new entries there's the new Monster 1200 R presented at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show.
