Ducati ECU or PC111 Help please
I'm having fitted a Termi asymetric to my 749s and dont know if I should go with the Ducati ECU, a power commander or both. Which is the best option?
Thanks

If you buy a PC3 can you take it off later and use it on another bike? I get the impression that the Ducati CPU is specific to the key that first used it. I want to put my bike back to standard when I sell it and use the PC3 and the Termi on the next one.

There is nothing in the PC3 that gets keyed to a bike, that is a peculiarity of the Ducati ECU. The PC3 is make/model specific though.

Dynojet tell me the PC is the same for all the 749 and 999 (even though they have diff part nos?)so like you will want to transfer pipe and PC to next bike

I have also heard the 749/999 commanders are all the same except for the maps. Also, on the ECU's, they only get locked to your bike if you code it by using the red key. If you stick a new ECU in and never use the red key, your bike will never know the difference and you can pull it out at any time and stick it in another bike. I feel the performance ECU is a rip-off to begin with and I am thinking about trying to see if Ducati will refund me the value of the ECU that came with my exhaust system. Justification...the new ECU required two tuning sessions at the dealer (a very reputable one at that) and the bike is still lacking, thus making a PCIII mandatory IMO. Wonder if I have a chance??
