World Ducati Week... Going

Hi guys, going to my first WDW in 2012, I have got my digs sorted down the road from the Misano circuit. All I need now is my entrance tickets! Do I need to buy these in advance? Where from? Or can one simply turn up and buy them at the gate? Thanks for any advice/help in advance, cheers guys oh and all the Very Best to all for the New Year... Let's hope it's a good one.

Chris.

Tickets are not available yet but more details will be available on the WDW website soon: http://wdw.ducati.com/

The DSC will be organising events to coincide with WDW, such as a ride down to Italy and meets while we're over there.

Same here too Chris, apart from being booked up, still waiting to confirm time off from work!

My plan is to fully ride one way at the very least and maybe call in at the Nurburgring and a few other places on my 'bucket list'

Dont worry - it'll be posted up here as soon as tickets become available.

Cheers - Frank

Hi Frank, I see you are also in the North-East. Over the years I usually use P&O Hull to Zeebrugge or Europort to get over. I was wondering if it is quicker to use the Chunnel (baring in mind the 12+ hours on the over-night ferry), have you or anyone else come to that found the Chunnel quicker?
I would like to tick the Ducati factory, museum and shop from my bucket list. Done Nurburgring a few times and love it, only trouble is I don't trust myself on closed roads, circuits etc. Time before last I had a close shave and left the track and did a little grass tracking . Very lucky to get away with it as there is very little run-off.
Frank, when you say "ride one way fully" are you thinking of using the train or someting?
Cheers...

Chris.

Hi Chris,

We are getting quite a 'Northern group' going these day

I've been looking at a few travel options and have yet to decide, odd I saw a chunnel car advert on the box last nite for £42 each way, seemed good.

I only going to have a week for my Euro-stint, but still want to ride the full distance in one direction and yes, might use the train to relax coming home!

Never been to the 'ring so really want to go just in case it meets its demise sooner rather than later.

Cheers.

Local bike group you might be interested in Chris, had some good rides last year:

If you want to do a factory tour, we organise one every year.

You would have to be a full (paid) club member to come along, but it entitles you to free entry into the factory (rather than €10 entrance fee), lunch in the staff canteen, a beer in the staff café bar and the "extended" tour as well!

Keep an eye on the forum as we'll be organising something soon.

Cheers for the reply, it looks like my friend can only get a week away for the WDW too but I am still planing to squeeze in a tour of the factory and as many mountain passes as time will allow .
I have thought about using the train myself but it looks very expensive, Then again it is pretty easy to get from Zeebrugge to Italy in two days. One of my friends says he often does it in ONE day but that does not sound like my idea of fun. Thanks for the link, I will take a peek. Thanks again...
Chris.

Some of the UKMOC people are meeting up at the 100HP club in Gallarate (just north of Milan) on the Wed 20th (evening) then riding down to Misano the next morning with the Italian guys.
http://www.100hp.com/

I am taking four bikes down in a van, one of which is for a member (he can’t get enough time off) who is flying into the nearby Malpensa airport and picking his bike up it turns out it is significantly cheaper than if he rode down all the way.
I am also transporting ‘excess baggage’ for some folks and taking a full set of tools and some spare parts.
