IMHO, you made a mistake regarding the rectifier location. Shorter are the alternator wires, longer is its life. Thus, you avoid burning connectors (even with the small Racing mod. 180 W ...) and all the electric risks supposed to start and create troubles from the rectifier. Reason why the best location is beneath the carbon battery holder, just in front the the inferior fairing hole, like Racing bikes. Moreover, don't hesitate to add a braid cable between the rectifier body and the frame or engine, according to its location, in order to enhance its own reliability ...
Starter motor not as standard. I managed by myself in order to be independant in case of track experiences ... Some 94 have been fitted, if requested !!!
Phil, I've fitted a reg/rect that can cope with all of the rigours of full loading from lights, battery charging etc etc...so for the application this is overkill !! As you know the circuit prepared will have starting and battery charging to cope with. The problem I have is the size of my reg/rect - it's too wide and overhangs the battery mount case substantially. So it's not like yours, where it fits snugly within the width of the battery mount case, so I opted for the current position. The joys of project building eh ! changes to the original arrangement are at times a necessity - even if not preferred !
