Changing tyres - who best to go to?

I'm looking to get some new Supercorsa's and want to be sure that the magnesium wheels are treated very carefully when getting the tyres changed.

Am I better off going to a specialist bike tyre dealer, or a Duke dealer?

How about the guys at Trackdays, sure they're experienced, but are they careful?

Also - where's cheapest to get SC's from? I happy to buy from the cheapest source, but get the best fitter to fit them (if they will).

Ta
Tim

Tim,

similiar thread in 99/748 etc. I am in need of a new rear soon. My view; pay a bit more go to a Ducati dealer, never a National type of place, get the job done carefully, and by someone of knows the value of the wheel in his hands.

If you have a digital camera take a pic of the wheels before the tyres get done , that way who ever you go to if there's anydamage they can't deny it !
If poss use the same days news paper as background !

Try FWR in Central London, they have a factory trained duke mechanic there who makes sure rims stay intact, theres also a place 2 mins from Tecmoto in Romford, took my 10-spokes there and not a scratch!

Yesterday I bought a pair of Dunlop 208's from M&P for £149 (they have a sale on at the moment) and was thinking of using the guys at the back of the Oxford M&P branch - GP Performance. Anyone had any dealings with them? They claim to be Ducati specialists as well as Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha etc. etc. specialists !

Picture of the wheels before the event is a definite requirement.

Tim,

I've used Micheldever for quite a few years now and always received good service from the guys in the bike bay. They fit to loose wheels or ride in and in my experience do take a lot of care. They are happy for you to stand and watch if you so wish!

Phone them for a price, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks guys....

I appreciate the comments, I'll give Micheldever a call tomorrow.

I usually get a price for the car's tyres from them and use this to beat a local car tyre place down on price.

I didn't know that they did bike tyres though (no reason why they shouldn't though).

Thanks
Tim
