Exhaust melting the fairing ????

I have just had a new race fairing fitted to my 748R and the exhaust is touching the fairings due to them being 50 mil pipes. Would anyone know the best tape/asbestos type material to use to stop the fairings from melting ??
Any advise would be great, Many Thanks

Shouldn't be an issue with 50mm pipes???

Shouldn't be an issue with 50mm as said, but I guess they are 'track fairings' and there for not quite 'correct' in the fitting department!

You could try some of that silver (aluminium) tape you can get, and apply this to the inside of the fairing? I've seen some on ebay.

Or you can get some of that heat fabric tape (that looks a bit ropey IMHO) and apply that to the exhaust?

Or...modify the fairing to fit properly in the first place???

Is it where the bottom of the link pipes touch the belly pan? If the race panels were reasonably cheap I would get the Dremel out and cut a crescent out of that area (which is what I did).

I have the same problem on my trackday fairing, also with a 50mm system, but only because the belly pan is only attached to the side fairings and not held in place with it's own brackets.

So you can either do as suggested - make up some brackets to hold it out further, get the dremel out to make it fit better or just leave it as is ... which is what I've done!
