New look 999 in MCN

Now that looks better, should help sell a few more.

Nah.......ruined it mate.

Funny thing is, and don't asked me why, the closed in headlight thing reminded me of the Jaguar E Type..............showing my age I know.

The original car had closed in headlights and then opened them in the revamped model.

Looks like Ducati think its better the other way round. What did make me laugh is that Pierre apparently didn' know anything about the mods

See you Saturday mate - weather's looking better

It's not a bad evolution in my opinion.

But a bit 2004 GSXR lookalikey I think.

Cheers!

Ohhhh Mr Terblanche...if only you'd listened to Jools in the first place.

I happen to like the 999, always have. However, when it was launched and all the controversy kicked off on this site and elsewhere about it's looks, I put several posts up to say it would look even better if they faired in the lights under a single perspex cover and lost the upper air vents. The posts will be in the archive somewhere.

I still think the perspex light cover should pick up the v-shape coming down from the screen and echo that shape, but NOW that would make it look like it's ripped off the 2004 Gixer look. If they'd have done it THEN the Gixer would've been the copycat. Must admit I didn't think the side vanes needed changing...I like them.

OK so that's the front end tidied up. I still think that the rear end could be tidied up a lot more if they faired in the two subframe tubes under the seat. The seat panels themselves are OK, but extending them forward and down to cover those two tubes (perhaps by working on a much updated version of the 851/888 seat) - Actually, the bike that does this best is the Mondial Piega...Phwoar have a look at the rear end on that...as sexy as Kylie's.....Nearly

buy MCN you tight git Rattler ...

and now all they need is a nice single sided swingarm and we might be getting somewhere ...

I think the light just looks blobby ....

wont do residual values for the MK1 999's any good though ....!!!

Sorry, no scanner so can't put up pic's
Maybe MCN will put them up on their site when it's back up and running.
Like the lack of side vanes as MCN put it, very much like the side panels on the 2002 99* series which I think is a good thing. Not sure on the headlights, probably look better in the flesh than the pictures just like the MK1
