Starter motor not working - relay maybe?

After my first session at Cadwell on Saturday, the starter motor failed to work so had to resort to "bumping" her off, not easy on a 996 with a slipper!

Not had a chance to look at the problem yet other than to try to hot wire the switch - didn't make any difference.

Think it could be the starter motor relay? If I remember rightly it's down by the battery.

Anybody else had this?

Yes, was caused by a poor connection to the starter relay (round thing, bottom right of battery tray).

Cleaned the contacts, replaced the cable tie holding it tight in place, and it's been ok since.

Funny old thing, Nelly suggested that as well. Will investigate further now. Thanx
