carbon pannels?

on the 996R carbon side pannels, at the bottom there is an air vent, (not sure if there is another name for it), on all models of the 996R (different years) is this vent supposed to be showing the carbon, or is it painted red?all the ones i have seen are showing the carbon then came across one the other day painted red. , not sure if the painted one has mickey mouse panels.

hadnt forgotton jon, just looking at another 996R and after some time noticed the different panels, they are showing carbon where your knees touch the side panels, so thats ok, just the bottom is different. havent forgotton the look but if i dont get one soon i might.
Always the same, when im after another bike i cant think of anything else.

bloody handsome jon, and wish it was mine. But its Steve Martins WSB. Tried hard to get the sticker kit but no joy, even e-mailed his team, nothing. that would have been my track fairings.
But when i bought the 996R I sold to Rattler (tim) i told the shop i was going to have the panels painted in Steve Martins colours, they nearly s**t themselves, dont paint it they kept saying, i just left with a grin on my face.
