fitting a Scitsu rev counter

'Noon

Just bought a Scitsu rev counter (red which I hope was right) and have no idea how to fit it.

Any one able to tell me what I should be doing?

I am a complete noob when it comes to things like this. But I do have some shiny new tools that will hopefully get used!

Cheers

Dan

Is it a hard wired supply or recharging battery type?

Mount it where you want then run the black lead along one of the HT leads to one of your spark plugs, fasten it with cable ties. Best if you don't cut or coil it round anything. The jack plug puts it into sleep mode to save battery power but they strongly recommend you don't start the bike with the plug in.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight that matters, but the size of the fight in the dog.

And dont forget to mount it using the little rubber mountings as apparently they dont like being bolted down hard.

Thanks for the advice

Will probably be doing it tomorrow or Sunday.

when you say use the little rubber mountings what do you mean?

Mine is on an aluminium bracket that has rubber mountings that allow the tacho to bounce around (if that makes sense)

the bracket has a hole in the back and I was going to bolt that to the ally piece I have where the dash was.

Yes it needs to bounce around, Scitzu's do not like vibration at all.

Note....if you're fitting a 'red back' to a620' then the wire needs to be taped to both HT leads.

All fitted.

Was easier than I thought it would be.

I might quit the IT business and become a bike mechanic. I clearly have a knack for it.
