Flaking Rocker

Over the holiday period I've been carrying out the 6,000 mile service on my ST4s. As well as measuring the valve clearances I decided to take all of the shims out whether they were out of spec or not so that I would have all the baseline measurements to work from the next time.
Just as well I did. As it turns out the horizontal left exhaust opening rocker is showing signs of the hardening flaking off and the clearance for this one was well within spec.
If I had had a dealer do the service they would probably only have measured the clearance and left it at that since it didn't need adjusting, although that would depend on the dealer I guess.
Anyway, before I go off ordering another rocker from Ducati does anyone know if there are any specialists in the UK who re-face Ducati rockers, preferably on an exchange basis.

I gave Nelly a ring. He has some resurfaced rockers from Germany in his own bike that he is evaluating but he can't be sure enough of their quality to consider selling them yet. As far as he knows there are no firms resurfacing rockers in the UK. If I had replace more than the one I would probably be better to get them from MBP in Canada or Megacycle in the US but the VAT and delivery on one rocker would make it not worthwhile. I'll just get another Ducati and hope it lasts better than its predecessor.

Try SEP at Leicester. IIRC they used to do all sorts of stuff that included re-profiling of cams and therefore they may be able to do what you want.

flaky rockers

I know we are a long way from UK but Bob Brown in Melbourne sometimes has resurfaced rockers in stock.
They should be cheap enough to air bag if you can't find a local alternative.
He has them prepared by an outsourced specilaist shop & then checks them himself for finish.
Melbourne desmo centre tel +61-413309643.
