There are a few on Autotrader now between £6,000 & £7,000

All with the last of line "smooth" fairings

I don't count the other two on there, one has been painted blue and the other is blinged up.

Be patient and the right bike will come along at the right price.

I would say £5,000 is very much the lower end, but having said that you might get one for less in the depths of winter and someone keen to sell.

Ray.

sbwells - really nice bike!!

I didn't buy one in the end as I thought, although they're beautiful bikes, I thought circa 6k was too much (I was looking at one in Snells....)- & if I'm honest what I really wanted was a 998R - that's why I bought my old 748sps for 2k & spent a bit on her to get it how I wanted it......all said about half the price with a similar looks & road performance.....

But.........I still think the 2002 748r is the real looker..........looks like I bought her mate.........nice but not quite in the same league......:-)

That's not bad. At the end of the day it's always dependant on what extras are fitted and if the bike needs tyres, service etc.

Mine came with the following:-

Full Service History
STM Evo slipper clutch
Magnesium clutch casing
Carbon fibre corse belly pan
Magnesium Marvic wheels
Full Ohlins
WSB ride height adjuster
Carbon Hugger
MRA screen
50mm polished Terminonis
Carbon race air tubes
Tecnosel seat
Alloy fuel filler cap
Corse rearsets
STM rear sprocket and carrier
Gold DID chain
Carbon front mudguard and v-piece
STM frame plugs
Renthal grips
Vented cluth cover
Carbon swingarm guard/chain guard/heel guards
JHP race air filters
