That certainly has some history if it is genuine....however I think I will pass on that one ......be too afraid to ride it !

I don't think it the actual bike he won on, more a case of one of several he was using, maybe a spare bike.

would need to see some serious provenance for it .

very nice bike...., won't say no to it .

More info... (culled from another site)

"It's Polen's 1993 AMA Championship bike. The forks are the give-away. Only the 1993 works bikes used the Ohlins FG9340 forks. The upper triple clamp is stamped DP1. It is the sister bike to Tom Tasso's DP2 bike".

That seals the deal. Now, where did I put my piggy bank...?

Interestingly though...the bike is listed as a 1992.

I still haven't figured out how to post pics-but if you go to bevelheaven.com then "gatherings" on the side bar-then to 2005 moto gp-then to the Ducati Heritage Museo, scroll down and look for me and doug with his/my bike.
Enjoy-Caus I shure as hell did!

Here is a photo of Tom's (motobueno) 1993 Doug Polen AMA championship bike.
This is the sister bike to the one that is for sale.

Here is the triple clamp on Tom's bike that identifies it as Doug Polens #2 bike
